CEDAR CREST ICE CREAM 4-H FLAVOR CREATION CONTEST

Congratulations to the grand prize winner and finalists of the 2026 Cedar Crest Ice Cream 4-H Flavor Creation Contest!

The annual contest is open to 4-H clubs in the state of Wisconsin. Finalists receive a Cedar Crest Ice Cream party. The Grand Prize winner receives an ice cream party and is awarded $500.

While there is only one grand prize, we will all be winners this summer when the top flavor is available as a Feature Flavor for the month of July!

The grand prize winner of 2026 is Hold Your Horses by the Pesobic Pathfinders of Merrill WI. Inspired by starting each day with a fresh cup of coffee, this flavor features Espresso Flavored Ice Cream with Chocolate Covered Toffee Pieces & Caramel Ribbon.

“When we get up in the morning to do chores, we stop and brew a cup of coffee. If we’re on our way out the door to go to work, we brew or buy a cup of coffee. When we stop to visit a friend or family, we are offered a cup of coffee. Why? Because it’s delicious. It’s comforting as well as stimulating. If you need to hit the floor running, need to charge out of the gate and conquer the day? Then treat yourself to Hold Your Horses because nothing can hold you back after a serving of heaven in a cup.”

Hold Your Horses will be available in ice cream parlors and scoops shops across the state of Wisconsin and beyond!

Some past winning flavors were so popular among ice cream lovers that they became a part of Cedar Crest’s scoop shop flavor line up! This includes Pesobic Pathfinders’ (Merrill, WI) 2024 winning flavor: Paul Bunyan, Springbrook’s (New Richmond, WI) Wisconsin Campfire S’mores from 2019, The Sunnyside Climber’s (Plover, WI) Demo Derby from 2025.

Entries were judged by a panel of ice cream experts chosen by Cedar Crest. The family-owned company based in Cedarburg, Wisconsin manufactures more than 80 flavors of ice cream, along with frozen custard, sherbet, and sorbet at its Manitowoc, Wisconsin plant. Cedar Crest distributes products in several Midwest states and beyond.
